The fact that it is in Northern Maine in the dead of winter makes it a real challenge. Especially laying prone on the frozen ground. Jonnyboy, I here you about the ammo. My M39 seems to favor the Tula ammo. -8 degrees this am , hope it warms up before the shoot!

Certainly would get the job done. Would be a little unwieldy in the thick woods I hunt in NH, but would work along power lines or from a tree stand.

Latest episode of "Life Below Zero" features Agnes Hailstone harvesting a Moose with what looks to be a PU Sniper! The rifle is as long as she is tall, but she puts meat on the table with that Mosin.

Very nice! How did the M39 do? What ammo were you using in the M44? I noticed 2 rounds were missing the M44 fireball. Wish I could be shooting in short sleeves. Still lots of snow and cold up here.
