Proper Cleaning?
I have heard and read many different things about the best way to clean and the neccessity to clean your rifle after using corrosive ammo. I would like to hear from you all about what your thoughts are on the subject. I hope to make some more "how to" videos on proper care/maintenance of t...

Re: Mosin Nagant How to videos for newbs like myself
I've seen very mixed reviews on the need for checking headspace on milsurp rifles. From what I've read even if it doesn't pass the Mosin Nagant may still be very safe to fire. I'm retired Army so I know what can happen but . . . . . .

Re: Mosin Nagant How to videos for newbs like myself
Thanks MN Fan!! You made my night! I enjoy making them for others. As much as I enjoy the millions of hours worth of research I have done, I understand that others may not have that luxury and I hope to make their lives a little easier! If there are any other things that you feel would be good for m...

Re: Possible Ex Sniper???
Got it all cleaned up. Here are some additional pics. After removing all of the cosmoline it was pretty apparent where the other holes were filled and polished. Anybody know what some of the other marks are?

Possible Ex Sniper???
I picked this 1939 Tula M91/30 up today.....am I correct that the "C N" markings and the hole inside the receiver makes this an ex-sniper? If it is was the PEM side mount used (based off what I have found on internet), also it doesn't look like the bolt handle was cut/welded.... IMAG0340.j...

Re: Trigger Slop / Play
I got my slack spring in today and after about 5 minutes had it installed....it's not as strong of a spring as I would have liked but it keeps it from "jangling" around every time I pick up the rifle! All in all $5 well spent. I'm picking up my 2nd Mosin Nagant on Monday!!! A hex receiver!...

Chinese Norinco SKS Receiver Cover Question
I can not identify this receiver cover. I am assuming it is for different mounts....but why would you put a mount on a part other than receiver or barrel? It wouldn't stay zero. I don't care for this cover are they interchangeable without many issues? Are there any that are not compatable? IMAG0309....

Re: Trigger Slop / Play
I dont mind the heavy trigger on the m91/30. My only problem is the free play in the trigger....the slack spring should fix that

Re: My First M91/30
I know most of the marks - Soviet Crest / Izhevsk / Date of Manufacture
But does anybody know what the "2" is over the serial number means or
I think it in the Soviet "N" in the upper left corner mean?
Thanks

Re: Trigger Slop / Play
I went ahead and ordered the trigger pin slack spring from ebay. Figured for less than $10 it doesn't compromise safety or the integrity of the rifle. It I don't like it I can always put it back to stock. I will post a link to before and after videos in a few days when I get it! Thanks for the comme...

Re: Trigger Slop / Play
Sgt. Rob - I'm not looking for a "crisper" or lighter trigger pull - the issue is the free movement in the trigger - just wondering how others have handled it...via the trigger pin spring or other ways I haven't heard of yet.

Trigger Slop / Play
I know this is a big issue with most M91/30s. When uncocked my M91 has about 1/2 of travel/looseness. When cocked it decreases to about 1/4" or travel/looseness. What are peoples solutions for this? I know of the trigger pin spring (I like that t does not compromise the integrity of the safety ...
