Model 27-2 S&W
I went to the antique & collectors show last month. Not much in military stuff, no black guns. They had more old Win & colt than any show except Wanamacher Tulsa show. I sold one old rifle so I had to spend part part of the money before I went home. I turned to the table behind me after I pu...

Tinkering on mowers & such
So far in the last year I've fixed a Troybilt 8hp tiller, a 42in John Deere riding mower and a 8hp B&S engine. It's on a Wlnco 4000 watt generator. As long as people are too lazy or dumb to use 100% gas I won't run out of stuff to tinker on. I don't make any money on this but it's fun to me. I t...

Re: S&W loan/lease .38 marking
I save brass and load my own. 125 gr semi-wadcutter loaded to around 700 fps makes a fun shooter out of these.

New day
Well I woke up this morning without grass roots tickling my nose. Guess this makes me 76 years old today. I've went from team and wagon to private citizens going on rides in space. Amazing all the changes. #dhic aka cliff

Re: Messrs. Smith and Wesson paid a visit today
I shoot my 357 smiths but mostly use my 38spl loads. Wadcutters are a hoot in my 6in 357s. Couldn't pull up the pics but I'll bet you will really like it. I also shoot medium loads in my 44s. They are both N frame guns so the recoil is very mild.

ffuries, I have a 5 in 38 s&w that was made early 1940 that looks like yours. Mine has no marks on it, never crossed the pond.
This is a very overlooked gun and caliber. I load for mine and really enjoy mine.

Re: Winchester mdl 1894
Tom, they said the mag tube wasn't right. They questioned both length and how it was attached. That's allright, I've about $1000 in this one compared to $2500 ones at gunshows. Works great, great bore, great caliber. I wouldn't take my money back.

Winchester mdl 1894
I've had this rifle for a couple of years. It's a 1894 win in 25-35 caliber. It has a 20in barrel, "Expurts" tell me it's been cutoff. This old rifle is a real shooter. I switched sights on my highwall Uberti and I decided to put the peep sight on the win. Looking forward to sighting it in...

Dan Wesson
My wife's favorite little Dan Wesson usually wears a 4in heavy barrel. When she used to shoot more often she was very accurate with it. I got bored this afternoon and installed my 2 1/2 barrel on her gun. Here is what the new barrel looks like.

Re: .308- .243 brass
I resized some 30-30 down to 25-35 for my old 94 Win. I neck size my brass with original size dies and decap before I start resizing. Take the decap pin out of your 243 die, this allows you to take a q-tip and cleanup any lube buildup. Keeps wrinkled shoulders from happening. My favorite load is a 8...

Win. Legendary Frontiersman
I bought this like-new win model 1894 rifle because it was chambered in 38-55. I have dies and brass to reload for this one. Can't remember posting this here if I have posted this one blame it on old age. I really can't make up my mind to shoot this one. It's so pretty I hate to scratch it up. +dhic...

The long and short of it
Here is a picture of a couple of my old revolvers. One is a Dan Wesson Large Frame. It's a 44 mag with a 10in barrel. The bottom one is a "Bad Leroy Brown". It's a 32 s&w long that is original except for the pearl grips. Quite a difference in your hand.

Reloading brass
Go back several years, brass for old or oddball calibers was available. You could do a little searching and find older caliber brass. I load and plink with several old lever and bolt rifles. I load 22 hornet, 25/20, and 32/20. The going rate for these start at $1 each. These brass are in real demand...

Auction tools from the past
Like a lot of you guys I like old tools. The old antique stores and auctions are some of my favorite places to look for old tools. Here is a old box that went through the auction a few weeks ago. I've not started on cleaning and oiling yet. I thought Jim or some one here could add some info on these...

Re: Tool Reincarnation
In the last 6 months I've bought braces, all types of bits and several planes. We have a big auction every Sat night about 40 miles north of us. I know to go get some stash money every time I go. I know I'll see something good. The last time I went I got 12 speed handles and a 1/2 drive break over a...

Re: S&W made for sale to British
The lanyard ring was mostly a pol dept special order or a common wealth order. If you got one pistol from s&w it was a special order. If it had the lanyard it was built from scratch that way. If you look at a victory you can see the placement of the serial # and the lanyard hole. They also had t...

Old Troy-bilt
Been trying to get an old Troy-bilt horse model tiller going before spring. I got my little propane torch to heat the hook on a spring I was working on. It caught fire in my hand. After I got it put out I took a pair of pliers and tore it apart and trashed it. Next I got out my map gas torch . The s...

S&W made for sale to British
Picked this old smith a few years back. This gun was made in 1940. It's a 38 S&W with a lanyard ring and a 5in barrel. It has a civilian blue finish and checkered grips. Don't think this one ever crossed the pond. It had a very low round count when I bought it. It was made before lend lease or t...
